Why is Dev Diwali celebrated?

Why do Gods celebrate Diwali:
On the full moon day of Kartik month, Mahadev ji had killed the demon named Tripurasura, hence it is also called ‘Tripuri Purnima’.
All the gods heaved a sigh of relief after the killing of Tripurasura and to celebrate this, they gathered on the banks of Ganga and celebrated Diwali by lighting lamps.It is believed that Lord Vishnu’s Matsya incarnation took place in the evening on Kartik Purnima.
