Insurance company manager cheated, fraudster defrauded him of Rs 3 lakh
Durg. A 29 year old girl, resident of Green Earth City Amleshwar, works as a manager in a private insurance company. On the evening of 9 November, the girl received a call from an unknown number.
The person calling told his name as Rohit and said that want to work from home? When the girl asked for more information about this, she was told that she would be sent a link to a hotel or a restaurant for which she had to give a rating. Said to give Rs 200 for every rating. On this Rani Lata agreed to work.
The accused sent a link for rating to the girl’s account after telling her the terms and conditions. On completing the task, Rs 200 was sent to the account through phone pay. After this, the next day he was added to a group, where he was told to get Rs 1500 by investing Rs 1000 in the name of trading task. After paying Rs 1,000, Rs 1,500 were deposited into his account.
After this, it was said that after investing Rs 3000, you will get Rs 4300. In this way, when the girl completely fell into his trap, the accused deposited Rs 3000, Rs 8000, Rs 28600, Rs 98000 and Rs 208560 into her account five different times. The greed of the accused increased and he started asking the girl to send Rs 2.40 lakh to his account.
On this the girl realized that she was being cheated but by then the cyber thugs had defrauded her of Rs 3,36,560 lakh. The victim girl lodged a complaint in the police station. Amleshwar TI Anil Patel said that investigation is being done on the complaint of the girl. The cyber crime team is trying to reach the accused.
