Chief Secretary took review meeting of Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana

Dehradun. Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu reviewed the progress of roads and bridges being built in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana at the Secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Secretary said that these roads being built to connect remote areas are very important, it is very important that they are built within the stipulated time. To complete the work on these roads, he stressed on taking the District Magistrate and DFO on top priority and completing the construction of these roads in every situation.

The Chief Secretary said that all the District Magistrates and DFOs should organize regular meetings and resolve the problems arising in the completion of the schemes and get the work completed. He said that to complete more work in less time, possibilities should also be explored so that the work can be completed in 2 or 3 shifts. He also instructed the Chief Engineer and other senior officials to go to the spot and resolve the problems. He asked the nodal officers appointed to monitor various works to constantly contact the concerned and solve the problems.

The Chief Secretary said that there is a need to take out time for high priority tasks every day instead of treating them as routine tasks. Said that after taking information about the number of workers and machines engaged in daily work, a report should be sought on how many workers need to be increased to complete the remaining work on time. On this occasion, Secretary Radhika Jha along with other officers of the concerned department and District Magistrates from the districts were present through video conferencing.
