New Delhi: As India and Australia lock horns in the final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Google India on Sunday shared a list of common things that show the similarities between World Cup finals between 2003 and 2023.
Sharing a list on X, Google said, “Here we meet again after 20 years #IndiavsAustralia.” Google listed Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar as the leading run scorers, while Rohit Sharma and Sourav Ganguly were listed as the first-time captains to lead a World Cup team in 2023 and 2003.
The note also mentioned that “Rahul” was the non-regular wicketkeeper for both the World Cups. Rahul Dravid took charge of wicketkeeping in 2003 and KL Rahul is the wicketkeeper in the World Cup to be held in 2023. In 2003, Australia seemed to have the advantage after going undefeated in all group-stage matches, and this year India also has the same advantage.
Australia won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Both India and Australia have opted to make no changes to their teams playing their final semi-final matches against New Zealand and South Africa respectively.
India captain Rohit Sharma said that if the team has to progress in today’s final, it will have to remain nice and calm during the game.
