Creation of new horizons of infrastructure development by Railways
Raipur : Over the years, South East Central Railway has created new horizons in the field of infrastructure development under its jurisdiction. From the point of view of passenger facilities, construction of foot over bridges at stations, construction of road over bridges/road under bridges/subways etc. for road passengers crossing railway lines or construction of new railway lines within their jurisdiction, Many important big projects like doubling, construction of third line and fourth line and gauge conversion have been completed in South East Central Railway.
Work is being done at a rapid pace on the construction projects of new railway line, doubling, third line and fourth line under the three railway divisions of South East Central Railway, Bilaspur, Raipur and Nagpur. Detailed information about important projects related to infrastructure development like Anuppur-Katni Third Line, Rajnandgaon-Kalmana Third Line and Bilaspur-Jharsuguda Fourth Railway Line is as follows: –
- Bilaspur-Jharsuguda Fourth Line Project – Under this project, 206 km between Bilaspur and Jharsuguda. The fourth line is being constructed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 2100 crore. Under this project, so far, more than 100 kilometers of fourth rail between Brajrajnagar-Lajkura, Champa-Saragaon, Lajkura-Belpahar, Jharadih-Kharsian-Robertson, Himgir-Belpahar, Brajrajnagar-Jharsuguda, Gataura-Jayaramnagar-Latiya and Jamga-Himgir stations has been constructed. The construction of the railway line has been completed.
- Rajnandgaon – Kalamna Third Line Project – Under this project, 228 km between Rajnandgaon and Kalamna, Nagpur. The third line is being constructed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 3544 crore. Under this project, 140 km between Rajnandgaon-Paniyajob, Bortlav-Darekasa and Gangjhari-Salwa stations. The construction of the third railway line has been completed.
- Anuppur – Katni Third Line Project – Under this project, 165.52 km between Anuppur and Katni. The third line is being constructed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 1680 crore. Under this project, 45 km between Amalai-Singhpur and Rupaund-New Katni. The construction of the third railway line has been completed.
Completion of these important projects will increase the capacity expansion which will enable new trains to be operated in future, there will be increase in mobility in these sections, which will increase the speed of trains as well as ensure timely operation of passenger trains.
