Two minor sisters were raped and murdered in front of their mother
Sonipat. The bench of Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) Suruchi Atreja Singh has given a historic decision. The court has convicted four accused in the much-discussed case of gang rape of two sisters in front of their mother and later murdering them by drinking pesticide. The court has sentenced all four accused to death.
Along with this, a fine of Rs 30-30 thousand has also been imposed on the culprits. The court, while giving its verdict in two years, one month and 10 days, has sentenced all four culprits to death in the much talked about case. While sentencing all four to death, the court termed their crime as heinous and said death penalty was appropriate for them. According to the information, the woman, originally from Bihar, had told the Kundli police station on August 9, 2021 that she lives on rent in a village in the Kundli police station area along with her two daughters and three sons. He has married his eldest daughter and son.
Four other youths from Bihar also lived in a separate room in the same premises where he lives on rent. The widow was sleeping in the room with her 13 and 15 year old daughters on the night of August 5, 2021. His sons were sleeping on the terrace. At around 12 o’clock in the night, four youths, originally Arun Pandit, resident of Majgahi village of Darbhanga district of Bihar, Phoolchand, resident of Masahori village, Dukhan Pandit, resident of Jhakeli and Ramsuhag, resident of Bada village of Samastipur, entered the room. They had caught his daughters in the room. Arun and Phoolchand Sada had gang-raped the elder daughter and Dukhan Pandit and Ram Suhag had gang-raped the younger daughter. When they protested, both the daughters were later made to drink insecticide kept in the room. Due to which his condition worsened. The accused had threatened the woman that if she told anything about this to anyone, they would kill her sons.
The woman remained silent out of fear due to the threat of killing her sons. She went to the terrace with her daughters. Both the sisters kept writhing on the terrace till four in the morning. Then when their condition worsened, both of them were admitted to Raja Harishchandra Hospital in Narela, Delhi. Where he died. The woman had told the Kundli police station that her daughters had died due to snakebite. On which the post-mortem of both the bodies was done in Delhi. After receiving the report, the police knew that the girls had been gang-raped. Along with this, he has been given some insecticide to drink.
Then investigating officer Usha Malik, who was part of the team of the then police station in-charge Ravi, had interrogated the woman. Only then the truth came out. On which a case was registered against the four accused Arun, Phoolchand, Dukhan Pandit and Ram Suhag for gang rape and murder by feeding poisonous substance. Usha Malik’s team had arrested all four. After hearing in this case, ASJ Suruchi Atreja Singh declared all four accused guilty. All four have been sentenced to death.
The fast track court has given the verdict in two years, one month and 10 days. This case reached the court on October 8, 2021. The culprits have been given death sentence under section 302 of IPC and 376 DA POCSO Act. Under Section 328, 10 years imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine, under Section 506, seven years imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine, and under Section 120B, life imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine.
