Uttarkashi: Not just for one or two hours but for 15 days, 41 laborers are trapped inside the Silkyara Tunnel. It had been more than two weeks since he saw sunlight. The American auger machine that was supposed to take them out ‘failed’ after getting very close. The blades of the machine used to drill the debris and lay pipes were broken. The rescue team has now started Plan B. Vertical drilling has been started on Sunday afternoon to take out the workers.
Prayers are being offered all over the world for the safety of the people trapped in the tunnel. In this rescue operation, the auger machine was being called a lifesaver for the workers. But after the ‘failure’ of the auger, now everyone’s hope is on the vertical drilling machine. Two places have been identified above the tunnel for vertical drilling. Both these places are on the edge of the tunnel under construction. Vertical drilling work is being done by a company named SJVN. It is believed that this technology may take time to reach the workers. But after the auger machine breaks down, it is considered to be the best option.
Vertical drilling machines are running at two places above the tunnel. Two places have been identified for this. A machine is running at the highest point of the tunnel. The other machine is running on the other part of the tunnel. This part of the tunnel has electricity and water facilities. Let us tell you that many agencies are busy in evacuating the workers safely. Recently the Indian Air Force has also participated in this rescue operation.
