Woman shoots dead her 44-year-old partner, arrested
Kalyani (West Bengal): A 20-year-old woman was arrested on Monday for shooting dead her partner in West Bengal’s Nadia district. Police gave this information.
He said the woman was in a relationship with a 44-year-old man for the last four years, who was married and had four children.
Police said she wanted to end things with him, but the man, hailing from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, did not want to separate.
On Saturday, the man came to meet her at Ganguly Para near Madanpur Railway Station. As the fight between the two escalated, the woman allegedly shot him dead and fled the spot on her motorcycle, he said.
“The woman, a resident of Jatrapur in Rotari village, has confessed to committing the crime,” an official of Chakdaha police station said, adding that she was alone at the time of the incident.
He said that investigation was started after the dead body of a person was found on the roadside in Ganguli Para.
During investigation, it was found that the man was seen talking to the woman by the local people of the area. He said that after this clue the woman was taken into custody for questioning.
Police said the family of the man, who lives in Jamshedpur’s Kabir Nagar area, has already been informed.
When the woman was produced in court, she was sent to six days’ police custody.
