Retired IAS accused of rape, case registered

Bengaluru : Karnataka Police on Monday registered an FIR against a retired IAS officer for allegedly raping a woman in Bengaluru. An FIR has been registered at Tilaknagar police station following the complaint of the 28-year-old woman. Sources said that the police has started investigation against retired bureaucrat Ramchandra.

The victim, who belonged to the minority community, said in her complaint that the accused mixed intoxicants in the drink and raped her. The woman had claimed that she is now in her eighth month of pregnancy. She further alleged that though she had lodged a complaint, no action was taken against her as the accused is an influential person. Further investigation is ongoing.
