Three doctors became MLAs in erstwhile Karimnagar.

Karimnagar: Three doctors were elected MLAs from different electoral districts of the old district of Karimnagar. While two of them were elected by BRS, one was from Congress. Jagtial MLA Dr M. Sanjay Kumar retained his seat by defeating MLC and Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy by 15,822 votes. El Hijo de Koratala MLA K Vidyasagar Rao, El Dr. K Sanjay were elected MLAs for the first time from Koratala. He won the election with a majority of 10,305 votes defeating Congress candidate Juvvadi Narasimha Rao. Medical principal and Karimnagar DCC chairman, Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, was elected from the electoral district of Manakondur. He won the segment with a majority of 32,365 votes, defeating Rasmai Balakishan. Even after winning Jagtial in 2018, Sanjay Kumar has not stopped practicing. Ophthalmologist Sanjay Kumar conducts free eye operations for the poor every Tuesday at his hospital in Jagtial. Sanjay, a neurosurgeon who works at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad, has been organizing medical camps in the electoral district of Koratala during the past years. Surgeon General Satyanarayana owns a hospital in Hyderabad.
