Shimla. This time the process of making ice in the ice skating rink in Lakkar Bazar will start only after December 12. This will also depend on the weather conditions. Shimla Ice Skating Club has made complete preparations for setting ice on the ground. It is expected that ice skating will also be started here by 25th December.

The weather has also been supporting this for the last few days and the club has also prepared the ground for this. All that is left is to pour water and do small tasks.

This time it is expected that there will be more space for ice in the rink. In the last season, due to this construction work, only 60 and 30 meter space was available in the rink. Organization Secretary of Shimla Ice Skating Club, Pankaj Prabhakar said that the work of preparing the rink for the skating session and arranging ice in it is to be done within a week.

Although work is going on here, still the competition can be conducted in about 60 percent of the ground this time. Shimla’s ice skating rink is the largest naturally formed ice rink in Asia. The rink is usually leveled and watered at night in late November or early December, after which the ice is frozen for the morning when temperatures drop overnight.
