Undertrial prisoner found hanging, see details
Jajpur: In a shocking incident, an undertrial prisoner was found hanging in Odisha’s Jajpur district, reports said on Wednesday.
An undertrial prisoner committed suicide in Ragadi sub jail of Jajpur. He committed suicide this morning in an under-construction house in the jail premises. He was rescued as he had a towel hanging around his neck.
According to the information, today at around 11:30 am, the prisoner committed suicide with the help of a towel in the under-construction house inside the jail. With the help of security personnel, he was rescued in critical condition and admitted to Jajpur Road Community Health Center (CHC). But after first aid the doctor declared him dead.
Prisoner found hanging in Jajpur. His case under the POCSO Act case was pending for 49 days. The deceased prisoner has been identified as Balram Behera. Jajpur Road Police reached the Medical Center and started investigating the incident. Although the reason for suicide is not clear.
