The tiger made a bite of the woman who went to collect wood
Ramnagar. Although the Corbett Tiger Reserve is trying to reduce human-wildlife conflict, tiger attacks on people and animals still continue. On Wednesday evening, a woman who had gone to the forest to collect wood with other women was devoured by a tiger. According to reports, this incident took place at the Della Training Ground of Corbett Tiger Reserve.
After receiving the information, a team of CTR forest personnel arrived and started searching the forest along with the local people. After investigation, a mutilated body of a woman was found near Kalu Siddh Mazar in Belghatti area of Dhela Range. Forest officer Ajay Dhyani said that the incident took place in East Savalde area.
At around 4 pm on Wednesday evening, three women from Patrani village were collecting wood on Ramnagar-Dela road near Dhela Rescue Center of Corbett Tiger Reserve in Patrani district. One of them, Anita, wife of Ramesh Ram (30), had gone to the forest to collect firewood. When Anita did not return for a long time, the women accompanying her informed the villagers. According to the villagers, after this a team of forest workers reached the spot.
After a lot of search, a mutilated body of a woman was found near Kalu Siddh Mazar in Belghatti area of Dhela range late in the evening. After this the woman’s body will be taken to Ramnagar Joint Hospital for post-mortem. It is reported that the deceased has four children. Forest Range Officer Dhyani said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. After the incident, anger spread among the villagers.
After a woman living in Patrani was killed by a tiger, Kisan Sangharsh Samiti organizer Lalit Upreti expressed concern that this tiger was the same tiger which had killed Pooja Devi in Hathidgarh a few days ago. If this is not detected soon, agitation will be launched against the forest department.
