Tomato crop spoiled, farmers worried due to cyclone’s havoc
Jashpur. Tomato and paddy crops of farmers have been badly affected in Pathalgaon area due to the impact of Western Disturbance Michong since last three days.
After bad weather for four days, paddy procurement by farmers has been stopped even in the paddy procurement centers here. Along with this, most of the farmers were not able to take out the harvested paddy crop from the fields, due to which continuous rains have increased the problems of the farmers.
Farmers are suffering huge losses due to flooding of paddy and tomato fields. Even today, life has become disrupted due to intermittent heavy rains. The severity of cold has also increased as the temperature has dropped to 15 degrees in the hilly areas. To avoid this, people are resorting to warm clothes and bonfires.
