A ₹284-crore project to quench the thirst of 39 villages in Mahendragarh.
The Haryana government has granted technical approval for a drinking water augmentation scheme worth ₹284.18 crore to ensure a clean and adequate water supply across 39 water-scarce villages in Mahendragarh district, including the cluster comprising Nangal Chaudhary town.
State Public Health Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa shared this information on Thursday while addressing BJP workers at the residence of Sarita Jangid, State Secretary of the BJP OBC Morcha, in Narnaul.
Gangwa stated that three packages have been formulated to implement this project. He said, “Work on the first package, costing ₹53.47 crore, has been awarded, and work on the ground has already commenced. Under this project, three new independent waterworks will be constructed in the villages of Sirohi Bahali, Musanota, and Asrawas.” He also mentioned that a new main line would be laid to supply raw water to the existing waterworks at Nangal Dargu and Nangal Chaudhary.
The Minister noted that the tendering process for the second and third packages is in the final stage. These include a ₹30.69 crore package for the Asrawas waterworks and a rising main line, and a third package covering the Musanota waterworks as well as a second lifting station at Nangal Dargu and Nangal Chaudhary.
He said, “Strict instructions have been issued to the concerned officials to use high-quality materials and complete the construction work within 540 days.” Gangwa further added that the department has also prepared a project for Narnaul town in Mahendragarh district, which will involve constructing a new disposal system and laying new sewer lines at a cost of ₹34.62 crore.
