A female teacher was hit by a car, and the driver fled the scene after the accident.
Korba. A road accident occurred near Azad Chowk in the Deepka police station area. A teacher returning home from school was hit by a speeding car. The teacher narrowly escaped being crushed under the car’s wheels along with her scooter, although she sustained injuries to her leg. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. Reena Singh, a teacher residing in SECL Urja Nagar Colony, was returning home from the primary school center around 4 PM on Friday. As she reached Azad Chowk, a speeding car collided with her scooter.
After the accident, the car driver fled the scene. Passersby at the scene helped the injured teacher. Reena Singh was taken to the SECL hospital for first aid, where she received treatment. She sustained injuries to her leg. Deepka Police Station In-charge Premchand Sahu said that teacher Reena Singh has filed a written complaint at the Deepka police station regarding the incident. The police have registered a case and started further investigation.
According to local residents, young men riding motorcycles at high speeds are frequently seen in the colony and at nearby intersections in the evenings. Although the police take action against such individuals from time to time, they continue their reckless behavior. Local residents also say that there is heavy traffic of large vehicles on the main road, which often leads to road accidents.
