A journalist’s credibility is his achievement
Shimla. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that a journalist is identified only by the news and the credibility of the journalist among the readers is his biggest achievement. He said that truth, objectivity, transparency and impartiality are expected in journalism. The impact of digitalization can be clearly seen in the field of journalism in the last two decades. In the modern era, exchange of information is happening very fast.
Journalists perform the responsibility of presenting important social events, information related to government work and other information to the society on the basis of truth and facts. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was presiding over a state level program organized on the occasion of National Press Day on the role of media in the era of artificial intelligence.
On this occasion, he congratulated the people associated with the media world on this day. He said that the role of social media is also continuously increasing.
With time, there has been a change in the methods of journalism and new technologies are being adopted in the media today. He said that today is the era of social media along with print media and broadcast media, but every medium has its own importance which will never diminish
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government has also taken the initiative to include the use of new technology in its departments. The result of this is that today all the government sector departments are connecting with e-office. He called upon everyone to play a meaningful role in taking the developmental programs and welfare schemes of the present state government to the people of the state.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Information and Public Relations Sanjay Awasthi said that media has played an important role from independence till present. He said that the role of media has been commendable during the recent natural disaster in the state. Before this, Director Information and Public Relations Rajeev Kumar welcomed everyone on behalf of the department.
