Azamgarh: A strange case of a marriage has come to light in Azamgarh, UP. Where the wedding procession came on the fixed date and time. All the preparations for the wedding were going on. Meanwhile, Varmala’s turn came. But when the groom reached the stage, he started having a seizure due to which he fell unconscious. When the girl’s side saw this, they refused to marry. After which the matter reached the police station. After settlement between both the parties, the groom paid a compensation of Rs 1 lakh. The procession returned empty handed.
This case is of Samadi village of Ahraula area. Where the marriage procession came from Dharupur Makaiyaan village of Baskhari police station area of Ambedkar Nagar district on Tuesday evening. After the Dwarpuja ritual, the wedding guests started having breakfast. Meanwhile the groom reached the wedding stage. He had a seizure and became unconscious. Seeing this, there was panic among the people of the girl’s side. The groom regained consciousness after about 15 minutes. After which the girl’s side refused to marry. Panchayat was held on the spot for hours. When the bride’s side was not ready for the wedding, the groom gradually started moving away from the spot. On Wednesday morning the matter regarding compensation reached the police station. An agreement was reached between the two parties in the Panchayat.
The groom’s side paid one lakh rupees as compensation to the bride’s side. After this the procession returned empty handed. On the other hand, people from the bride’s side held a panchayat in the police station. The matter could be resolved after police intervention. There is a lot of discussion among the people about the entire incident.
A similar case has also come to light from Ballia. Where the bride refused to marry the groom at the time of varmala. She was adamant on marrying her lover instead of the groom. The matter could not be resolved even in the Panchayat that lasted for hours in the presence of the police. Therefore, the procession returned empty handed in the night itself.
