A video call can ruin your life! old man trapped

Bengaluru: Chatting with a woman on Facebook proved costly for a 69 year old man. The thugs defrauded about Rs 2 lakh through ‘nude video call’. The matter is of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Fed up with the repeated blackmailing, the old man approached the police. Police has started the investigation of the matter.

According to the Times of India report, Sajan (name changed) is a retired employee of a private company. He told the police that he and the woman used to talk through messenger with a Facebook profile named Komal Sharma. Sajan says that on November 21, Sharma tried to make video calls to him several times. After this calls were coming continuously.

When he picked up the call, he found that a woman was naked in front of him and was talking indecently. Immediately after this, Sajan disconnected the call and warned the woman not to contact him again. After some time, the woman sent him a video clip, in which she and Saajan are seen. Sajan received a threat that if the money was not paid, the video would be uploaded on social media.

After this Sajan also blocked her on the messenger app. The very next day Sajan got a call from two unknown numbers and the caller threatened that the videos had been uploaded on YouTube. The thugs demanded Rs 76 thousand 500. Frightened Sajan transferred the money to the bank, but even after this the sequence did not stop and next time a demand of Rs 94 thousand was made. Saajan deposited the money in his account.

When the thugs continued the blackmailing, they turned to the police. According to the report, a police officer said, ‘Based on Sajan’s complaint lodged on November 27, we have registered a case under section 419 and section 420. Sajan had chatted with the woman for some time in his free time. We still do not know whether he was also seen nude during this time or not. He has claimed that these videos have been morphed.
