A woman engrossed in the devotion of Shiva has been fasting for 40 years

Korea. Palli Devi (tea aunty), who lives in Bardiya village, 15 kilometers away from the district headquarters, has been on a fast for the last 40 years. People call the woman a devotee of Lord Shiva. For many years the woman has been surviving only on tea. Local people know the woman as Chai wali aunty. People tell that since 1985 the woman has been fasting and doing devotion.

Even science is surprised to see a woman surviving only on tea for 40 years. Palli Devi tells that after marriage, as soon as vermilion was applied on the forehead, she gave up food and water.

After this, after leaving her husband’s house and coming to her parents’ house, she never went to her in-laws’ house again. While worshiping Lord Shiva for years, till today not even a single grain of food has been touched. At present, she drinks red tea only once at night after puja.
