Abhishek Banerjee Appears Before ED, TMC Slams BJP For Using Agency As ‘political Tool’
As the Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its probe into the alleged school jobs scam, the TMC leader claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is using central agencies against him.
“BJP uses central agencies to fight against me. Such threats and intimidation by CBI and ED against me won’t deter me from public service or reaching out to the masses,” Abhishek Banerjee said.
Shamelessly, @BJP4India continues to use @dir_ed as a political tool to target Shri @abhishekaitc.

Accusing the saffron party of using the central investigation agency, the TMC took to social media and wrote, “Shamelessly, BJP continues to use the Enforcement Directorate as a political tool to target Abhishek Banerjee. Come what may, we are committed to relentlessly working for the people and ensuring their welfare!”
Abhishek Banerjee appears before ED
Trinamool Congress MP and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in connection with its probe into the alleged school jobs scam in West Bengal. Banerjee, the party’s National General Secretary, reached the ED office in Bengal at around 11.30 AM.
“Banerjee has been called to provide evidence of the school recruitment irregularities. Our officers are also likely to ask him a few questions in connection with the scam,” an ED official told PTI.
In view of the ED summons, the TMC leader had to skip the coordination committee meeting of the Opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A, scheduled on Wednesday in Delhi. The members of the multi-party alliance will meet at the residence of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in the national capital at around 4 PM and will deliberate upon the seat-sharing formula. Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee is on a 12-day visit to UAE and Spain.
