Accused in robbery case was absconding for 8 years, police arrested

Raigarh. SP Divyang Kumar Patel had expressed his displeasure in the crime meeting regarding the accused who are absconding in serious crimes and instructions have been given to all the police stations and outpost in-charges to arrest the accused immediately, regarding which Police Sub-Divisional Officer Dharamjaigarh Deepak Mishra has informed the police station of Dharamjaigarh Division. By preparing a list of the accused who were presented challan under section 173 (8) CrPC, instructions were given to trace the accused afresh, on which Tamnar police arrested the accused Lakhan Sahu (32 years), resident of Sonumuda Jutmil, who was absconding for the last 8 years. Success has been achieved in arresting him. The accused was absconding in the 2016 robbery case.

During the trace of the accused, police station in-charge Tamnar Inspector Arshiwad Rahatgaonkar got information about the accused Lakhan Sahu hiding his identity and living in Raigarh, Orissa due to fear of arrest. The police station in-charge was continuously keeping an eye on the allegations through informers, on receiving information about the sighting in the jute mill yesterday, the staff was immediately sent to Raigarh, through which the accused Lakhan Sahu was taken into custody and brought to the police station. The accused, along with his three other associates, looted money from an elderly man near Gayatri Farm House, village Jhingol and divided the amount among themselves.

A mobile phone purchased from the looted money has been seized from the accused and he has been sent on remand. Police station in-charge Tamnar inspector Arshiwad Rahatgaonkar along with assistant sub-inspector Narsingh Yadav, constables Anup Minj and Rajendra Rathiya played an important role in arresting the whereabouts of the accused. On November 3, 2016, Rakesh Kumar Agnihotri (aged about 60 years), resident of Kotra Road, Raigarh, had gone to Tamnar on a motorcycle Hero Honda to collect the loan amount from those purchasing groceries from Shivam Traders Raigarh, who was collecting money from many grocery shopkeepers in the area.

While returning back to Raigarh after recovery, three boys came on a motorcycle near village Jhingol Gayatri Farm House and hit his motorcycle from behind due to which Rakesh Agnihotri fell on the ground along with the motorcycle.Three unidentified boys looted a bag full of money belonging to Rakesh Agnihotri which contained around ₹ 2,46,000 and ran away with the bag. Tamnar Police registered the crime of robbery against unknown accused and soon three accused who committed the robbery were arrested. Lakhan Sahu, the accused involved in the incident, was absconding after the incident, against whom a challan under Section 173 (8) CrPC was presented in the court. it was done. During investigation, information was received that accused Lakhan Sahu was hiding his identity and living in Raigarh, Orissa due to fear of arrest, who was arrested last night and sent on remand.
