Action on bullion traders who buy stolen goods, may be arrested

Rajnandgaon: Rajnandgaon police has exposed the interstate gang of thieves. This gang had carried out the theft incident in Chikhali police station area of the city. The police have arrested three thieves of the gang. Goods worth Rs 898635 have been recovered from the accused. Rajnandgaon Superintendent of Police gave information about this on Wednesday. It is being told that these thieves used to attack deserted houses in Chhattisgarh after coming from MP.

Actually, these thieves used to be active in Chikhali Chowki area of Rajnandgaon city. Between 12 and 15 August in Deendayal Nagar, this gang committed the theft in an empty house. These gangs often attack empty houses only. The accused broke the lock of the deserted house and cleaned their hands on the gold and silver jewelery and cash kept in the house. After receiving the complaint, the police constituted an investigation team.

A joint team of Chikhli Chowki Police and Cyber Cell was constituted for the investigation. During the investigation, the police got some information from the informer. Also the help of CCTV footage was taken. After this the team was sent to Durg and Nagpur. On the basis of CCTV footage installed at the toll naka of the National Highway, the police caught the accused. In this, police from Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur Maharashtra laid siege and detained the accused and interrogated them.

During interrogation the accused confessed to their crime. After this, some bullion traders were reported to be selling stolen goods. Police has taken action against two bullion traders of Nagpur Maharashtra. Five mobiles including gold and silver jewelery and the car used in the incident have been seized from the accused. The price of all the items is said to be Rs 898635.
