Action taken against the JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum’s protest march in Ranchi.

Ranchi. The police have initiated action regarding the protest march organized by the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch on Ranchi’s Main Road on Friday and the subsequent commotion. Three separate FIRs have been registered at the Kotwali police station in connection with this matter. Based on various complaints, the police have named several individuals as accused.

The first FIR was lodged by Ranchi Circle Officer (CO) Shivshankar Pandey. It names 14 individuals and lists approximately 250 unidentified persons as accused. The second FIR was registered based on a complaint by Shahbaz Alam, an injured resident of Azad Basti; this FIR names 11 individuals and lists 250 unidentified persons as accused. The third FIR was lodged based on a complaint by Ankita Verma, naming seven individuals along with others as accused.

Allegations of Commotion During the Protest March

According to reports, the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch organized a protest march on Ranchi’s Main Road on Friday to press for various demands. During the event, a chaotic situation arose at certain locations.

According to the administration, complaints were received regarding incidents during the march; based on these, the police registered FIRs and launched an investigation. The police are now investigating the matter using video footage and other evidence.

First Case Registered on CO’s Complaint

The FIR lodged by Ranchi CO Shivshankar Pandey alleges that law and order was disrupted during the protest march. Fourteen individuals have been named as accused, while 250 unidentified persons have also been listed as accused.

The police are now working to identify the accused and determine their roles based on the names listed in the FIR. Officials state that further action will be taken only after the investigation is concluded.

Injured Youth Also Lodges FIR

A second FIR in this matter was lodged by Shahbaz Alam, a resident of Azad Basti. Shahbaz alleged that he was assaulted during the incident, prompting him to file a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered against 11 named individuals and 250 unidentified persons. The police are also investigating the allegations made in the complaint.

Ankita Verma alleges assault and misconduct

A third FIR has been lodged by Ankita Verma. She alleges that some participants in the protest march near Chadri Line Tank were involved in a dispute with another individual.

According to Ankita, during this altercation, some people in the crowd accused her of siding with one of the parties and assaulted her. She alleged that her clothes were torn during the incident. The police have registered a case based on her complaint and have initiated an investigation.

Police investigating the entire matter

The Kotwali police station has commenced an investigation after registering all three FIRs. Police officials state that CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident site is being scrutinized. Additionally, videos available on social media and other forms of evidence will be examined.

The police have stated that action will be taken against those found guilty in accordance with the law, while innocent individuals will not be harassed.

Heightened discourse surrounding the agitation and law and order

Student organizations and aspirants have been agitating for some time over issues related to the JPSC and JSSC. The protest march held on Friday was part of this ongoing agitation. However, legal proceedings have now been initiated regarding the incidents that occurred during the march.

Further exchanges of statements between student organizations and the administration regarding this matter are likely. For now, the police are focusing on uncovering the truth behind the incident and identifying the perpetrators.

Following the events on Ranchi’s Main Road, the administration has heightened vigilance regarding law and order. Police officials have made it clear that no form of violence or public disorder will be tolerated, and action will be taken based on the investigation’s findings.
