Actress M.N. Rajam and director S.P. Muthuraman to receive special awards: CM’s announcement

Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that veteran actress M.N. Rajam and film director S.P. Muthuraman will be conferred with the ‘Kalaignar Memorial Arts Department Scholar Award’ for the years 2024 and 2025, respectively.
A press release issued by the Tamil Nadu government in this regard states:
The ‘Kalaignar Memorial Arts Department Scholar Award’ is presented annually for outstanding lifetime achievement in the Tamil film industry. In this connection, the award was given to writer and dialogue writer Aaru Das in 2022, and to poet M. Mehta and playback singer P. Susheela in 2023.
Subsequently, veteran actress M.N. Rajam has been selected for the Kalaignar Memorial Arts Department Scholar Award for the year 2024, and film director S.P. Muthuraman has been selected for the 2025 award. It has been announced that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will present them with a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh and a memento.
