Actress Sara Ali Khan never auditioned for ‘Animal’
Mumbai: Amid media reports of Sara Ali Khan being cast for the much talked about role of Trupti Dimri in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer action drama ‘Animal’, an insider has quashed the rumors and revealed that the ‘Kedarnath’ star Had never even auditioned for the film.
According to viral media reports, there was talk that Sara was considered as Trupti for the role of Zoya Wahab Riaz in ‘Animal’. Reports state that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was not ‘enthused’ by Sara’s audition, and found Trupti better suited for the role of Zoya.
Now, putting an end to the rumours, an industry insider reveals: “Sara Ali Khan never auditioned for ‘Animal’.”
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film revolves around the complex relationship of a business magnate Balbir Singh (Anil) and his son Arjun Singh (Ranbir).
Trupti has made a big impact with a small role in ‘Animal’. The film is full of violence, romance and intimacy. With polarized views on the film, does she feel the film was misogynistic?
“I think cinema is about free artistic expression and that’s how it should be,” the actress told IANS.
Sara was last seen in ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. Her next films are ‘Murder Mubarak’ with Vijay Verma, ‘Metro in Dino’ with Aditya Roy Kapur and ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’.
