Talking about the show and her character, the actress in an exclusive interview said, “When I first heard about the character of ‘Deedun’, I was skeptical about it because before that I had played a Punjabi lady ‘Preeto’ for six years. I played the character and the audience showered me with lots of love for that role. Somewhere till today everyone sees me like this.
She said, “I was afraid whether the same audience would now accept me in the role of a Bengali woman. But I am grateful to everyone for showering me with so much love. I never thought that I would get so much love for the role of ‘Deedun’. will get.”
‘Neerja – Ek Nayi Pehchan’ is the story of Neerja, a mother and daughter living in Sonagachi, a red light area of Kolkata. The show stars Ayub Khan, Kamya Punjabi, Sneha Wagh, Rajveer Singh, Aastha Sharma. The show premiered on 10 July on Colors TV.
