AGTF Punjab action, operatives of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar gang arrested
Chandigarh: Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab on Thursday arrested gangster Vikramjit Singh. He was a henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar gang. Former Director General of Punjab Police said, “In a major breakthrough, #AGTF Punjab has arrested Lawrence Bishnoi and Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky, an operative of the Goldie Brar gang. He was tasked by a foreign-based handler to eliminate a rival gang member. “He was also involved in smuggling of arms/drugs from across the border.”
Punjab Police DGP further said that Vikramjeet has a criminal history. 20 cases, including those under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), were registered against him in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. “He was one of the shooters/co-accused of slain gangster Ankit Bhadu in the sensational murder of his rival Jordan at a gym in Ganganagar, Rajasthan in 2018,” Punjab Police said. A Chinese pistol, eight live cartridges and a vehicle have been recovered from the accused. Recently, the Delhi Police Crime Branch had arrested two shooters of the Goldie Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang involved in the firing incident at the Punjabi Bagh house of a former Punjab MLA on December 3.
According to the police, the names of both the shooters are Akash who is a resident of Sonipat and Akhil is a resident of Charkhi Dadri. Bishnoi was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in November 2022 from Bathinda jail in Punjab in a case related to conspiracy by terrorist groups and criminal syndicates to commit violent acts and sensational crimes across India. The arrested gangster is linked to several cases, including conspiracies to carry out targeted and sensational murders in several areas spanning Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.
His involvement in these activities has been reported over the past decade. Bishnoi has been in jail since 2014 after he was caught during a clash with Rajasthan police. He was shifted to Delhi’s Tihar jail last year, but was arrested by the Punjab Police on June 14 and transferred to Punjab in connection with the sensational murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala on May 29.
