Airspace: Pakistan extends airspace ban for Indian aircraft

Delhi: Pakistan has extended the ban on the use of its airspace by Indian-registered aircraft, as well as civilian and military flights, for another month. According to the new order, the ban will remain in effect until March 23, 2026. This decision will impact air traffic between India and Pakistan, forcing Indian airlines to adopt alternative routes.

According to sources, Pakistan has taken this step based on security and strategic concerns. The Indian Civil Aviation Ministry and airlines have begun preparing new flight schedules to accommodate this change. The ban may also impact international flights, as the air routes between India and Pakistan are crucial for many international flights in South Asia.

Previously, Pakistan had temporarily closed its airspace to Indian aircraft. This time, the period has been extended by another month, forcing Indian airlines to adopt alternative routes that involve longer distances and higher fuel consumption. Experts say this situation could increase challenges for air safety and air traffic management.

The Indian government has expressed concern over this move and is working with airlines to develop strategies to minimize disruption to passengers and air operations. They stated that the impact of this ban on Indian citizens and commercial flights will be minimized.

Airlines are informing passengers about flight changes and diversions. The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation has clarified that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure passenger convenience and safety.
Thus, this ban imposed by Pakistan on Indian airspace will continue until next month and may cause temporary disruption to air operations between the two countries.
