All communities support Congress: DCM DK Shivakumar

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday said all communities support the Congress party, not just one community.

Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivnagar residence, he said, “People are smart and they will support the party which will help their livelihood. The Congress party is helping all communities including Vokkaligas. People will support the party which will help them. , will be good for the state and the kingdom.” They look at the country, not sentiments.” He was replying to a question on whether Vokkaliga would support the Congress party.

Responding to a question on toppling the JDS government, he said, “I did not say that Swamiji will have to answer. I only said about Kumaraswamy that he will take the same people to meet Swamiji who had toppled his government. All Needs Swamiji’s blessings. Ours.” Minister Cheluvarayaswamy also took some Vokkaliga leaders to Swamiji to seek blessings.”

Asked why Swamiji was being dragged into politics, he said, “I am not politicizing the issue, I only said that Swamiji needs to be respected.”

On the question of limiting the government to one community, he said, ‘Even if you leave caste, caste will not leave you.’ Asked about Yediyurappa’s statement that Congress was not seeking votes on its central leadership, he said, “When Modi came to Shivamogga, he did not seek votes for himself. He sought votes on behalf of the candidate. Does this mean that That Modi doesn’t have confidence in himself.” ,

He said, “Yediyurappa is trying to change the topic. Why is he not talking about injustice to Karnataka in tax distribution, drought relief to Karnataka, increasing MNREGA man days.

When asked about Yediyurappa’s statement that a vote for Congress is a vote for terrorism, he said the Election Commission will answer it.
