Ambala Cabinet Minister Anil Vij suffers fracture, will not be able to attend the budget session

Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij suffered hairline fractures in both his ankles after slipping in the washroom late Saturday night and has been advised complete bed rest for a month, raising doubts about his participation in the upcoming budget session.
Speaking to The Tribune, Vij said, “The budget session is approaching, and I want to attend the session because it’s important for me to be there, but such things (injuries) are beyond my control. There was some water on the washroom floor, and I slipped last night. Although the fractures are hairline, the doctor has advised complete bed rest to avoid putting pressure on the ankles.”
He said the swelling remains, and the doctor may apply a plaster cast in a day or two.
Despite the injury, Vij has been reviewing official matters from his home, giving instructions to civic officials, and communicating with senior police officers.
As news of his injury spread, party leaders, supporters, and even opposition leaders called to inquire about his health. Vij tried to lighten the mood by saying, “The planetary alignment isn’t looking good right now, but I won’t break down.” He added, “Whatever has to happen will happen, so why worry?”
Last year, the minister also fractured his toe, but he continued attending meetings until it was discovered.
