Ambulance driver stabbed to death by 4 unknown assailants
Navi Mumbai: In a shocking incident, Nerul police have registered a case of murder against four unidentified assailants who allegedly stabbed a 30-year-old ambulance driver to death near DY Patil Hospital on Sunday night. The victim has been identified as Yuvraj Amarendra Singh, who worked as a driver at Spandan Cardiac Ambulance Service.
The incident occurred between 8:15 and 8:30 pm on Sunday night near DY Patil Hospital in Nerul. Dnyaneshwar Babasaheb Nakade, 28, who also works as a driver for the same ambulance agency, lodged a complaint with the police. Nakade said Singh, who had just completed his duty, had accompanied him to the hospital to collect a body.
‘Come quickly brother, we are waiting’
As they were heading towards the hospital, Singh, who was talking to some people on phone, kept the speaker on. A person on the other side asked him to hurry up and said, ‘Come quickly brother, he is waiting for you.’
On reaching the hospital, one of the attackers opened the gate of the ambulance and pulled Singh out. Along with this, another attacker attacked him and two others tried to open the driver’s gate. Responding immediately, Nakade started the ambulance and headed towards the Army Colony near the hospital. He immediately contacted the ambulance agency owner to report the incident.
Police have registered a case against 4 unknown people
Upon returning to the scene with the agency owner, they saw Singh lying in a pool of blood with visible injuries. He was taken to DY Patil Hospital, unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead.
Based on Nakade’s complaint, Nerul police registered a case of murder against four unidentified persons. The charges include sections 302 (murder), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, sections 25 and 4 of the Arms Act and sections 135 and 37(1) of the Maharashtra Police Act. ,
A suspect has been detained during the ongoing investigation. Police are working diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and bring the culprits to justice.
