Amidst the rapid developments on K-Rail, Congress alleges, CPI(M) tacit agreement with BJP
Thiruvananthapuram (IANS). A close aide of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, K.V. The state Congress on Thursday accused the ruling CPI(M) of striking a tacit understanding with the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha polls after Thomas met metroman E. Sreedharan over the controversial Silverline project.
Senior Congress leader K. Muraleedharan said the speed at which things are moving clearly indicates that there is a secret pact between the BJP and the CPI(M).
He said, āWe heard about the meeting between Thomas and Sreedharan and then state BJP president K.K. Saw Surendran meeting Sreedharan. Now it is being heard that a new proposal has also been presented. This momentum clearly indicates that bridges are being built for a tacit understanding between the BJP and the CPI(M) in the name of a new resolution, as the Lok Sabha elections draw near.ā
According to sources, Sreedharan will meet Vijayan on Thursday to discuss the revised proposal.
In particular, Vijayan and the CPI(M) faced criticism across Kerala for being adamant on going ahead with the Silverline (K-Rail) project. On some occasions the Central Government had also said that the project was not viable and practical.
After this the Chief Minister decided to include Thomas. All eyes are now on the outcome of the proposed meeting between Vijayan and Sreedharan, while the Congress and the anti-K-Rail committee are eagerly waiting to know about the new proposal.
