Raipur. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai attended the closing ceremony of Bastar Pandum 2026. Shah arrived in Raipur on Saturday evening and stayed there overnight. He held a meeting on Sunday. After the meeting, he stayed in Raipur again on Sunday night and arrived in Jagdalpur this morning.

This visit by Union Home Minister Amit Shah is considered significant in giving a new direction to Bastar from a security and administrative perspective. The high-level meeting held in Raipur discussed the final strategy against Naxalism, with a special focus on the Bastar division. Tight security arrangements were in place in the city. Security and traffic arrangements were also strengthened in Jagdalpur in view of Shah’s visit. The security protocols implemented during President Droupadi Murmu’s visit for the inauguration of Bastar Pandum were largely maintained to avoid putting an additional burden on the system. The administration has deployed CCTV cameras, increased police patrolling, and implemented route diversions on main roads, at the event venue, and in surrounding areas.
