AMRITSAR: 30-year-old man dies of drug overdose

Tarn Taran: A 30-year-old man died of drug overdose here on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Jujbir Singh, resident of Aladdinpur village. His body was found by the family in nearby Jodhpur village.

Princepal Singh, cousin of the deceased, told that Jujbir had gone to Jodhpur village on Tuesday to buy drugs. He said that most of the drug addicts buy drugs from a particular place in Jodhpur village. He told that a person gave him an overdose of drugs, due to which he died on the spot.

Investigating officer Sub-Inspector Naresh Kumar said that a case has been registered under section 304 of IPC against Karamjit Kaur, resident of Jodhpur village, from whom the deceased had purchased drugs. The suspect is absconding, he said.

The deceased was a marginal farmer. His wife had left him a year ago.
