Andhra: Heavy rains cause flooding in low-lying areas of Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram

Kakinada: Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram on Sunday, inundating several low-lying areas and disrupting traffic.

The sudden downpour brought relief from the humid weather but caused waterlogging in several localities. In Rajamahendravaram, roads at Railway Station Road, Syamala Centre, Kotipalli Bus Stand, Deluxe Centre, Hitech Bus Stand, Income Tax Road, Kambala Cheruvu and Korukonda Road were inundated.

In Kakinada, Municipal Office Road, Cinema Road, Jagannadhapuram, Main Road, Sambamurthy Nagar and other low-lying areas were affected by waterlogging.

Motorists faced inconvenience as rainwater mixed with overflowing drainage water in several localities.
