Andhra Pradesh: Arogya Suraksha Phase II begins, 13,818 medical camps to be organized
Vijayawada: Health Minister Vidadala Rajini on Tuesday announced the launch of the second phase of the Jagananna Arogya Suraksha Programme, revealing plans to organize 13,818 medical camps simultaneously across the state. He participated in the inaugural camp organized at Chinapalkalur in Guntur district.
Giving the outline of the programme, he said that medical camps will be organized at the divisional level on Tuesday and Friday. Medical camps will be organized on Wednesday and Thursday under the jurisdiction of the two secretariats in urban areas. Under the second phase of Jagananna Arogya Suraksha, medical camps will be organized in the scope of 10,032 villages and 3,786 ward secretariats.
The primary objective of the program is to bring persons with health problems to medical camps for check-up and treatment. Medicines will be provided free of cost. Patients requiring advanced treatment will be referred to major hospitals for free treatment, and Arogya Mitras and ANMs will monitor the health of the patients until they recover completely. He stressed that no other state is implementing such a comprehensive health initiative as the YSRC government is committed to the well-being of the people.
He noted an increase of 3,257 in medical procedures under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme. He thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for increasing the Aarogyasri beneficiary treatment limit to Rs 25 lakh. The launch of the Arogya Aasra scheme, which provides financial assistance of Rs 5,000 at the rate of Rs 225 per day to patients during treatment, was also appreciated.
