Andhra: Vuyyuru civic body leads the state in ‘Operation Clean Sweep’
Vuyyuru (Krishna district): Vuyyuru Municipality in Krishna district secured first place in Category-I (population between 20,000 and 50,000) under the state government’s Operation Clean Sweep initiative for its outstanding performance in sanitation, solid waste management, cleanliness and public participation.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu presented the prestigious state-level award to Vuyyuru municipal commissioner Manda Subhash Chandra Bose during the Operation Clean Sweep Awards ceremony in Gudivada on Saturday.
Krishna district in-charge minister and labour minister Vasamsetti Subhash, municipal administration and urban development minister P Narayana, excise minister Kollu Ravindra, Swach Andhra Corporation chairman Kommareddy Pattabhiram, and several senior officials and public representatives attended the event.
Receiving the award, commissioner Subhash Chandra Bose thanked the state government and said the recognition was a reflection of the collective efforts of the people of Vuyyuru and the continuous encouragement provided through the Operation Clean Sweep initiative.
He praised the dedication of municipal officers, sanitation workers, engineering staff, ward secretariat functionaries, volunteers, self-help group members and all municipal employees for their tireless efforts in maintaining high standards of cleanliness. He also acknowledged the guidance of public representatives and the active participation of citizens, stating that their cooperation had been instrumental in achieving the honour.
The commissioner dedicated the award to the people of Vuyyuru and reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to further improving sanitation, strengthening sustainable solid waste management practices, and providing a cleaner, healthier and environmentally sustainable urban environment. He said the recognition would inspire the municipality to continue setting new benchmarks in urban cleanliness and civic responsibility.
