Anger in the cook union due to not getting salary for 5 months, midday meal stopped in schools here

Mahasamund. Due to non-payment of honorarium to the mid-day meal cooks since last five months, the Cook Association has stopped preparing mid-day meal in the schools of Mahasamund district. Due to which mid-day meal has been stopped in most of the schools of the district and in some schools, food is being prepared by self-help groups.

37 children from classes 1 to 5 study in the city’s government primary school, Gudrudih, and today 26 children are present, but due to the cook union going on strike, mid-day meal is not being prepared in this school and the head teacher has warned the children. Has been asked to bring tiffin from home. In this whole matter, the cooks union says that we are facing a lot of problems due to not getting the salary for five months. We will not prepare midday meal until we receive honorarium. While Principal Pathak of the school is giving information that mid-day meal is closed and asking the children to bring tiffin from home, the District Education Officer is talking about making alternative arrangements.
