Animal skin smuggling, 3 accused including Ayurvedic doctor arrested
Durg. After the action taken by the Durg Flying Squad in the skin smuggling case, there has been a disturbance in the forest department of Rajnandgaon. While the officers of Khairagarh Forest Division are under the scanner due to the busting of this gang of smuggling, the nexus of the local department has also been exposed by this action. The game of smuggling was being played for a long time on the Dogargarh-Maharashtra border, which comes under the Khairagarh Forest Division. But the officers not only kept the whole matter under wraps, but kept silent till a new corridor was built through Maharashtra to reach foreign countries.
If we look at this whole matter, the three accused arrested by the Durg Flying Squad were the ones who carried out the entire smuggling from Chhattisgarh to Maharashtra. Constant complaints were being received about the smuggling game of the accused. But the officials of Khairagarh Forest Division turned away from their role. On the other hand, as soon as the Durg flying squad came to know about it, it immediately raided Ghotia of Mohara police station and reached the big gang through the accused. However, in this operation, there is a possibility that the smuggling work was being done only because of the strong nexus between the Khairagarh Forest Division and the police. With the conspiracy being revealed layer by layer through the operation, the pulse of the local forest department has increased. It is worth mentioning that, in the past, the flying squad team of Durg had recovered leopard, bear skin, deer head and tortoise on a large scale from the three accused caught in Ghotia village of Mohara police station of Dogargarh.
In Ghotia village of Mohara police station of Dogargarh, Durg flying squad has recovered nineteen types of skins ranging from leopard and bear skin, deer head, tortoise and leopard’s nails. According to the information, Mullen Kumar Sahu (Sandeep) father Devlal Sahu is a resident of village Mokhali Rajnandgaon. Similarly, Haldhar Vashisht the Ayurvedic doctor and Agnu Neti who killed the leopard. Both Mullen and Halghar used to act as mediators. Bijapur Forest Department has taken them for questioning.
