Anti-Hijacking Mock Drill at Biju Patnaik International Airport of Odisha ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Bhubaneswar, an Anti-Hijacking Mock Drill was conducted by Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) on December 17.
This was done as a preparatory measure to counter any threat during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention in Bhubaneswar. It is for the first time that the function will be hosted by Bhubaneswar. The celebrations are scheduled to take place from January 8 to January 10, 2025. It will be 18th edition of the convention.
Recently, Bhubaneswar hosted the DG-IGP conference from November 29 to December 1. Dignitaries of the police force, including Director General of police of several states and the Inspector Generals of Police were part of the conference.
The Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar recently got threats from Khalistani terrorists during the DGP-IGP Conference. The threats were targets at the Biju Patnaik International Airport of Bhubaneswar.
For the safety and security of the passengers and dignitaries, the airport authorities conducted the Anti-Hijacking Mock Drill on December 17.
