In a recent conversation with Pop Talks podcast, Darsheel Safary talked about his first meeting with Aamir Khan. He revealed that when he was first asked to do some tests for the film, he did not understand the concept of auditions. However, he already knew Amol Gupte, who was originally scheduled to direct the film.
In the same interview, he also told how after auditioning for the first time, he was sure of being cast in the film. Actually, he met Aamir Khan during his first audition. Recalling that moment, he shared, “I sat down, and they asked me to do that ambiguous scene, which I enjoyed. Just then Aamir uncle came in shorts and cap. He comes over, and he says, ‘Hey, hi, I’m Aamir.’ And of course, I was surprised. But I was very surprised by his vibe. I was expecting a completely different scenario; Mangal Pandey had just arrived.”
