Apple iPhone 16 series will be powered by A18 chipset

According to Jeff Pu, an analyst who covers Apple and its supply chain, all iPhone 16 devices will be powered by the A18 chipset. For those who are unaware, the iPhone 15/15 Plus comes with the A16 Bionic chipset while the iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max comes with the A17 Pro chipset. However, if you are assuming that the Apple iPhone 16 regular and Pro devices will be powered by the A18 processor, then you are wrong. Some new features are expected to come in the Apple iPhone 16 series smartphone series. The new specifications of the devices include the latest chipset on all four devices. This means that the iPhone 16 series will be powered by the A18 chipset. This may surprise users as Apple usually uses older chipsets on its vanilla models while the Pro devices get a newer processor.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to get A18 processor while iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max devices will get A18 Pro chipset.

However it is unclear how the A18 chipset will differ from the A17 Pro chipset. The A18 and A18 Pro will be manufactured by TSMC. TSMC revealed that both A18 chipsets will use the ‘N3E’ second-generation 3nm process which is better than the ‘N3B’ used for the A17 Pro.
