AR Rahman on winning his 10th National Award: ‘A moment of pride for the family’
Chennai: Oscar winner A.R. Rahman congratulated his nephew G.V. Prakash on Sunday for winning his third National Award. He remarked that this is a proud moment for their family as they celebrate their 10th National Award together.
Sharing a congratulatory message on his X timeline, A.R. Rahman said, “Congratulations to @gvprakash on his third National Award. It is a proud moment for our family as we celebrate our 10th National Award together. Your passion, sincerity, and dedication to music are always inspiring. May you achieve many more milestones in the future. God bless you. #EPI”
It is worth noting that G.V. Prakash Kumar won his third National Award for the background score of director Rajkumar Periasamy’s film ‘Amaran’.
Sharing a statement on social media immediately after winning the 72nd National Film Award for Best Background Score for ‘Amaran’, G.V. Prakash said, “I feel deeply humbled and grateful to receive the 72nd National Film Award for Best Music Director for the film #Amaran. Winning this prestigious honor for the third time is truly a blessing, and I accept it with heartfelt gratitude.”
Expressing his gratitude to the jury and the selection committee for this honor, G.V. Prakash wrote, “A big thank you to the esteemed jury and the selection committee for this wonderful recognition. Heartfelt thanks to our producer Kamal Haasan sir for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful film. Many thanks to our director Rajkumar Periasamy for his constant support throughout this amazing journey.”
While thanking the entire cast and crew of the film, the music director highlighted the contribution of his sound engineer, Jehovason, in making his work special.
G.V. Prakash said, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, and the entire cast and crew of ‘Amaran’. It has been an honor to work with such a talented team. A special thanks to my sound engineer, Jehovasan, whose dedication and hard work played an invaluable role in bringing this music to life.” He also expressed his gratitude to his beloved family, the brilliant team of musicians and technicians, close friends, and everyone who supported him at every step of his journey.
Finally, he thanked his fans. He said, “Above all, I will always be grateful to my fans. Your unwavering love, constant encouragement, and steadfast faith in me have always been my greatest strength and inspiration. I dedicate every musical note I create to all of you. This award belongs as much to each one of you as it does to me.”
