Arshdeep took a wicket in the first over; Yadav’s challenge paid off.

Sports: Arshdeep Singh, who is India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is, is spearheading Team India’s bowling attack in the ongoing third T20I match against South Africa. In the match being played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, he took a wicket in the very first over. On the fourth ball of the first over, he trapped South African opener Reeza Hendricks leg before wicket. The on-field umpire had given the right-handed batsman not out, but at Arshdeep’s insistence, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav challenged the decision, and the replay showed the ball hitting the stumps, resulting in the decision being overturned and the batsman being given out.
By dismissing Hendricks, who scored no runs off three balls, Arshdeep broke Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record for the most wickets taken by an Indian bowler in the powerplay overs of T20I matches.
Bhuvneshwar has so far dismissed 47 batsmen for Team India in the first six overs of T20I matches, while Arshdeep now has 48 wickets to his name.
