Art workshop commences at GDC Akhnoor

A National level Art Workshop organised by Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable (MSCBMC) Trust was commenced at Government Degree College, Akhnoor today. The title of week-long art workshop was ‘Trikuta – The Maharani of Mountains’. Dr. Krishan, former MLA, also graced the occasion and recited a few couplets of his poems. He also highlighted the Dogri Bhakh. Bhakh is a very beautiful and charming genre of Dogri Literature as well as Dogri Music. Speaking on the occasion, Anuradha Rishi, President of the Trust highlighted the vast potential of local students in areas like Akhnoor, where opportunities for learning art skills are scarce. She called upon the government to extend support for organizing more workshops in such underserved regions, emphasizing the transformative impact it could have on the lives of students and communities. Rishi said that the Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust remains committed to empowering young talents and fostering cultural enrichment in communities across Jammu & Kashmir. The workshop features a distinguished team of ten nationally renowned artists from across the country including Ashok Kumar, Gopal K Samantray, Gouri Vemula, Jiban Biswas, Nilesh Vede, Rahul J Mhetra, Ranjeeta Kumar, Sanju Das, Suman Dongre, and Vijay Kumar, who are actively engaging with students to impart artistic skills and insights. The participating artists not only demonstrated various artistic techniques but also interacted with students, providing them with valuable guidance and encouragement. Students of Government Degree College, Akhnoor enthusiastically participated in the workshop in the college premises. Additionally, the artists distributed gifts among the students, fostering a spirit of creativity and camaraderie.
