Arunachal: Career counselling programme held at DNGC
ITANAGAR: The NSS cell of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), in collaboration with the college’s IQAC cell, organised a ‘Career counselling-cum-certificate distribution programme’at the college here on Friday.
The event was attended by DNGC Principal Dr MQ Khan as the resource person, along with NSS Programme Officers Botem Moyong, Dr Kipa Roni,and Dr Tarh Achi.
The event saw the participation of 125 senior NSS volunteers from all 14 departments of DNGC, who were recognised and awarded NSS certificates for their outstanding commitment, dedication and unwavering services.
Dr Khan congratulated the volunteers for their two years of invaluable service as NSS volunteers, highlighting the positive impact they have made in their communities.
During his address, Dr Khan focused on the importance of career development, and provided guidance on various avenues available to the volunteers. He shed light on prestigious entrance exams like RGUCET and other competitive examinations that could open doors to promising career paths.
Dr Khan urged the students to look past traditional choices and explore specialised fields of their own choices. He encouraged the students to be highly career-conscious, purposeful, and goal-oriented.
He advised students to choose their own careers,keeping their happiness in mind, and not to compromise one’s happiness. “True satisfaction of life comes when you pursue a career of your own choice, not what others dictate or recommend,” he said.
Additionally, he stressed the need for responsible use of social media and the avoidance of other distractions that could hinder their progress.
Dr Khan interacted with the students and discussed matters related to the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by providing clarity on the topic.
“As the volunteers leave their NSS journey behind, armed with newfound knowledge and skills, they are poised to make significant contributions to society. Their dedication and commitment will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy and inspire others to follow in their footsteps,” said Dr Khan.
Botem Moyong highlighted the various activities carried out by the NSS cell over the last five years.
The career counselling-cum-certificate distribution programme served as a platform for the NSS volunteers to reflect on their achievements and chart their future paths. “It was an opportunity for them to gain valuable insights and guidance, further strengthening their resolve to make a positive impact in their chosen fields,” informed Moyong in a release.
Dr Kipa Roni said that the NSS unit of DNGCcontinues to play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of young individuals and fostering their personal growth.
“Through initiatives like the career counselling programme, the college aims to empower its students to become responsible citizens and catalysts for change,” he said.
Dr Tarh Achi also spoke.
