Arunachal: Dibang T-20 cricket tournament begins

The first edition of the Dibang T-20 cricket tournament began at Kera Aa Jubilee Ground on Wednesday. Fifteen teams, including two from Lohit, are participating in the tournament organised by the Lower Dibang Valley District Cricket Association (LDVDCA). The inaugural match was played between United Ambre and CJMCC. CJMCC won by 8 wickets in 17.1 overs. BJYM state vice-president Gunu Linggi attended the inaugural function as the chief guest and announced that he would sponsor the first prize money of Rs 50,000. “Cricket is gaining popularity in the district,” he said. He also appreciated the efforts made by the DCA to promote the sport. DSO Roy Mihu also attended the function. The final will be played on March 15.
