Ashram priest murdered by hitting him with a stick

Jaipur: A priest was beaten to death with a stick in an ashram in Padukalan police station area of Nagaur district of Rajasthan on Sunday night.

Police Station Officer Manvendra Singh said that the priest of Raghurgiri temple, Chhotupuri (53), was attacked and killed with a stick by a person from the village.

According to him, he said that on Monday, based on the report of the family members, a case has been registered against the accused Ramprasad under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the accused has been taken into custody.

He said that the body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem was conducted by the medical board on Monday.

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the priest had been performing puja in the temple for the last 6-7 years. The police is investigating the matter
