ASI starts restoration work of Puri Jagannath Temple Natmandap
Bhubaneswar: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Friday began the restoration work of the Natmandapam of the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri after the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) gave the nod to the ASI for it on Thursday.
It is noteworthy here that the permission to commence the repair of Natmandir has been given in view of a direction of the Orissa High Court in this regard on Thursday.
SJTA Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das said the repair work would be carried out between 6 am and 10 pm. daily keeping in mind that it does not cause any disturbance to the rituals or the devotees.
The technical team of the Puthi Jagannath temple will oversee the repairs, while the temple commander and supervisors will manage the crowd.
The ASI plans to use iron scaffolding for the repairs in coordination with the temple authorities.
